Mass Stupidity

Ok, I haven't written anything in this since I started it, but after reading the news today I had to vent. PEOPLE ARE STUPID!!!!

One headline told how people in Florida had to wait in line (gasp!) for water and ice after Hurricane Wilma. OMFG!!! A hurricane hits and they have to wait in line!!! Do people in this country not realize how jaded they are? A hurricane hits and the big fucking news is that people have to wait in line? Has no one been reading about the deaths in Pakistan? Natural disaster hits anywhere else in the world and there is mass death and suffering. Natural disaster hits here and people bitch about having to wait in line. Americans can be the most ignorant, selfish people on earth. Of course, what the story really was, was the media needing pointless crap to fill their news slots.

Another headline that bothered me was the big hoopla about the number of KIA American soldiers in Iraq reaching 2000. So what? Does one death mean more than another? Is there a magic number where we say "Hey, this many soldiers have died. We should pull out know and make all of their death pointless.". Making a story out of a number is just a reflection of the pathetic mass medias attempt to make news. What irked me more was some idiot's response to the story. He was ranting about how it was only the poor and middle class' children fighting over there and how he wanted Bush's girls over there. How stupid can one person be? It is a VOLUNTEER army. And who volunteers? The rich kid who is going to be going to Harvard and then become a filthy rich lawyer? Or the kid from the welfare family with the parents that drink and the dad that beats mom? Duh! Tough to figure out huh? Now if you tried to have a mandatory military service for everyone you would see this same asshole screaming out against that. There is just no pleasing assholes like him.

The last story that bugged me just for the gross stupidity of it, was a story how Bush would lose an election if it was held today. That story is as pointless as a story that tells us all humans would have 360 vision if ours eyes were on the sides of our head. Our eyes are not on the sides of our head and there won't be a Presidential election this year. SO WHY WRITE THE DAMN STORY? God I hate the news media.

Enough ranting. I want to get on with enjoying life and as long as I can avoid any further human stupidity I will be ok :-)
